Paris river cruise transfer to your ship
Seine river cruises start and end on quays that are hard to find and harder to reach with suitcases. A Paris river cruise transfer by private van takes you from the airport, the station or your hotel to the gangway area of your ship at Grenelle, Javel or Le Pecq, and back again at the end of the cruise.

Where river ships moor in and near Paris
Your cruise documents give the quay. Here is what to expect at each.
The Paris river ports are managed by HAROPA PORT, which also runs Le Havre.
| Mooring | Where | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Port de Grenelle | 15th arrondissement, on the left bank near the Bir-Hakeim bridge and the Eiffel Tower | Ships moor on the lower quay. The van stops as close as access allows and the driver helps with the bags |
| Port de Javel Bas | 15th arrondissement, a little downstream along the Quai André-Citroën, near the Garigliano bridge | Same principle: lower quay, short walk with your driver carrying luggage |
| Le Pecq | About 20 km west of central Paris, below Saint-Germain-en-Laye | Used by some larger ships. A van is far simpler than the RER with cruise luggage |
| Other quays | Depending on the line and the season | Send us the exact quay name from your documents |
River cruises on the Seine are sailed by lines such as Viking, Uniworld, AmaWaterways, Avalon, Tauck, Scenic and CroisiEurope. We are independent and serve every ship. For ocean cruises from the Channel coast, see our overview of cruise transfers.
From your flight to your cabin
Many river cruise passengers fly in from North America or Australia on the day of embarkation, or the day before. The plan we usually suggest:
- Arriving at Orly: the shortest drive to the Paris quays, often 30 to 45 minutes. See pickups at Orly.
- Arriving at CDG: allow about an hour or more across Paris. See CDG meeting points.
- Boarding usually opens in the afternoon: if you land in the morning, ask about a stop at a hotel or a short tour first, with luggage locked in the van.
- Disembarkation: ships often ask passengers to leave in the morning; book your van for the time given by the cruise line.
For couples sailing with friends, the Mercedes V-Class takes up to seven passengers and their cruise bags when not every seat is used.

Your fixed price in two minutes
Before boarding: a few hours in Paris or Versailles
Boarding time is often mid-afternoon, and an overnight flight lands in the early morning. Rather than sitting in a terminal café, some passengers book the van for a few hours: a drive past the main sights, lunch, then the ship. Others go to Versailles, about 30 minutes from the Grenelle and Javel quays, with luggage safe in the van. Our Versailles day by van page explains the timing.
Cruises that start or end in Normandy
Some Seine itineraries begin or finish in Rouen, Caudebec-en-Caux or Honfleur rather than in Paris. We drive between Paris or the airports and those quays as well. Send us the quay from your documents for a quote.
Groups from the same ship
Travel clubs, alumni groups and agency groups often sail together. A 19 to 21-seat Sprinter, or several, moves the whole group between the airport and the quay at once.
Paris river cruise transfer questions
Can the van drive down onto the quay next to the ship?
Not always. Vehicle access to the lower quays in Paris is restricted. The driver stops as close as access allows and helps carry your bags to the ship’s welcome point.
Our cruise line offers a transfer. Why book a private one?
Cruise line transfers often run at set times and may wait for other passengers. A private van leaves when your flight lands and goes straight to your ship.
Is Le Pecq in Paris?
No. It is a town about 20 km west of central Paris, below Saint-Germain-en-Laye. The drive from CDG is longer than to the city quays; plan accordingly.
We arrive two days before the cruise. Can you take us to the hotel first, then to the ship?
Yes. Book both rides together: airport to hotel, then hotel to quay on embarkation day.
How early should we leave the hotel on embarkation day?
It depends on the quay and the boarding window. Tell us both and we suggest a pickup time that leaves a margin for traffic.
Do you go from the ship to Gare du Nord for the Eurostar?
Yes. Allow for the Eurostar check-in time on top of the drive across Paris.
Your ship is waiting. So is your van.
