What seven seats really means

Many chauffeur vans in Paris are sold for five or six passengers. That is the moment a family of seven ends up in two cars that leave at different times. Our V-Class takes seven passengers in proper seats with seat belts, in one vehicle.

Front
1 passenger seat next to the chauffeur
Rear
2 benches of 3, facing each other or facing forward
Access
High roof and wide sliding door
Fleet
20 Mercedes V-Class

Facing seats change a long drive: children see their grandparents, colleagues can talk, and nobody stares at the back of a headrest for an hour.

Seven people and their luggage

The honest answer: it depends on the bags. Seats and suitcases share the same space.

With all seven seats taken, the luggage space behind the last bench is smaller than with five passengers. Seven travellers with carry-on bags fit easily. Seven travellers with two large suitcases each usually do not. Rather than promise a number, we ask what you carry and confirm the vehicle before you pay. Strollers, golf bags, ski bags and wheel-less boxes count too: list them in the booking.

How to describe your luggage

The quickest way to get the right vehicle is to count: how many large checked suitcases, how many cabin bags, and any bulky items such as a double stroller, your own car seat or sports equipment. With that list, we can say straight away whether one V-Class is enough.

Why not two taxis?

Two taxis can work, but they rarely leave together, they may not take seven people between them with luggage, and child seats are not guaranteed in Paris taxis. One pre-booked van keeps the family together at one fixed price.

Child seats take a passenger seat each, and boosters can go on the rear benches. Give us the age of every child: we fit baby seats, child seats and boosters as needed, without limit, and confirm that everyone still has a place. The French rules on child restraints are explained by the government road safety agency, Sécurité routière.

7 seater van Paris: your questions

Does the price change if only four of us travel?

No. You book the whole vehicle, so the price is the same for one to seven passengers on the same ride.

Can a 7-seat van take seven adults comfortably?

Yes. All seven seats are full-size passenger seats with seat belts. The front seat next to the driver is usually taken by the tallest adult.

Is a 7-seat van the same as a minivan taxi?

No. A Paris taxi can be hailed in the street and may not have seven seats. Our van is pre-booked, private, and the vehicle size is confirmed in advance.

We are seven with a lot of luggage. What do you suggest?

List your bags in the booking or quote form. If they do not fit in one V-Class, we suggest a Mercedes Vito, a V-Class plus a sedan, or a Sprinter, and explain why.

Can we have the rear seats facing each other?

Ask when you book. The lounge layout is available on our V-Class; with several child seats, forward-facing benches may be preferable.

Can we book two 7-seat vans together?

Yes. With 20 V-Class in the fleet, two or three vans for the same pickup is routine.
